Oracle Apps SCM Functional Tutorial

Introduction

In any organization / company / enterprise, if a product is manufactured by using the raw materials from multiple suppliers and if these products can be sold to the users / customers, then a supply chain is created.

Depending on the organization’s size and the products’ numbers that are manufactured, a supply chain can be complex or very simple.

Oracle has come up with the applications of Fusion in 2011. Modules such as HCM, CRM and the Financials have been proved successfully. The Oracle Supply Chain Management Cloud has below modules.

For high level differences between EBS applications and Cloud applications are provided wherever there is a need.

1. Product Management: Oracle comes up with the Product Information Management module in order to handle product information. The Product Hub can also offer the product solution for the Product Information Management and Master Data management. Product Hub is defined as pre-integrated with the modules of Oracle ERP cloud. The product can be mature and can be feature-rich. Most of the EBS functionalities are  available in the Cloud at present.

2. Order Management Cloud: Initially, Oracle launched Order Management with the name ‘Order Orchestration’, within the Order Entry only through CPQ cloud. From the Release 11 of Cloud Applications, in which the Sales Orders may be created within the Cloud application itself a native. The Order Management can be completely re-architectured when compared to the suite of E-Business. The new products are very highly technical in terms of good features and it can be completely built on the technology of FMW. With a  built-in SOA, Fusion Order Management (FOM) can have the ability in integrating with any of the systems through web services. 

DOO is considered as the heart of Order Management Cloud, that can orchestrate  tracks the fulfillment lines and the sales orders till the completion of it. DOO is integrated with third party systems for the order fulfillment or order capture or both. 

3. Pricing: Pricing can also be re-architectured. The new types of modules are used to the modern / latest Marketing principles in order to price the item in the systems. The principles can be defined based on the Segmentation and Customer Profile. The product of Pricing offers the flexibility in creating strategies in order to handle the segments of the users / customers within the efficient way. Pricing runs on Algorithm, Matrices, and the Service Mapping. The algorithm configures the custom fields and derives the price.

5. Inventory and Costing: Inventory management can handle the material transactions within a warehouse. The module of Inventory has one of the most common in comparisons to the EBS. Some of the features like move orders, Org transfers, physical inventory and cycle counting can be  present from the first release of the Cloud Applications. The product may gain strength in the functionality from the  REL 11 within the advanced fulfillment techniques such as Internal Material Transfers ( IR-ISO in EBS), Consigned Inventory flows, Back-to-Back. Moreover, in this module inventory replenishment can be restricted to the Min-Max planning so far.

6. Global Order Promising: GOP can be the promises of the delivery customers which is based on supplies spanning across many modules such as Manufacturing , Inventory, and Procurement. Planning Central, Planning Demand Management, Sales and Supply Planning Cloud services. While Planning the central offers the basic features Supply Planning offers the advanced functionality.
